About The Wellness Institute Foundation

Wellness begins
with belonging.

A Greater Cleveland nonprofit built around compassion, connection, and the well-being of the whole person.

Our mission

Wellness across
all stages of life.

The Wellness Institute Foundation is dedicated to promoting mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness across all stages of life. Our mission is to provide early detection, prevention, maintenance, and recovery services through accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based programs. We strive to bridge the gap between healthcare, education, and social support systems by empowering individuals and families to achieve balance, resilience, and lifelong wellness.

Our vision

Communities where
wellness comes first.

To create communities where mental wellness is a daily priority — beginning with early childhood and continuing through adulthood — ensuring that every individual has access to the tools, resources, and support needed for a fulfilling and balanced life.

Our lifespan approach includes children, adolescents, young adults, adults, and older adults. We are developing collaborations with schools, families, and community organizations to support age-appropriate wellness education, prevention, supportive services, and connections to care.

Our purpose in practice

Inclusive support.
Lifelong wellness.

Our work embraces children, adolescents, adults, older adults, and families. We are developing opportunities in prevention, wellness education, supportive services, school collaboration, and community partnerships.

Workshops, community gatherings, resource connections, and other charitable projects will take shape as partnerships and resources grow.

President & Founder

Keenya Steele, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC brings more than 23 years of healthcare experience to the foundation, along with her background as a family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

Keenya is a Christian whose faith became a source of strength, hope, and comfort during her personal cancer journey. That experience deepened her understanding of how meaningful spiritual connection can be during difficult seasons. Faith remains a cornerstone of her life and inspires her commitment to compassionate, whole-person support. She brings that commitment to her work by honoring each person’s own beliefs, values, and sources of strength.

Her vision connects whole-person wellness with prevention, education, practical support, and meaningful community relationships across all stages of life.

As the foundation develops, Keenya Steele, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is inviting churches, businesses, community organizations, and individuals to advance the Foundation’s mission through education, supportive services, wellness initiatives, and community partnerships.
